Throwing Rocks At Yourself

After having a miserable day,

perhaps failing to accomplish something big or small, perhaps not meeting someone’s standards, or perhaps not meeting your own standards,

how do you expect your family or significant other to welcome you?

Do you expect warm comforting words like “You’ll get it next time” or “There’s always a tomorrow”?

Or do you expect them to bring you down even more, throw words as heavy as rocks at you?

Doesn’t it feel odd and sound silly now,
Bringing someone down, making them feel more miserable and unworthy than how they already feel at the moment,

and over something that can be forgotten or fixed?

You wouldn’t do that to another,

You wouldn’t expect others to do that to you.

Why?

Isn’t it because doing so won’t carry you forward and uplift you to perform much better next time?

Then, why do you throw rocks at yourself ?
